Traditions

What are some holiday traditions of your family?  Do you have special movies you watch together every year?  Do you all put the tree up together?  Please share your traditions with us.

One of our traditions is decorating the trees together, we put Christmas music on and drag the trees (yes plural, we put up 3 trees) and put them all up.  I usually remember where each ornament came from, who gave it to me, for what occasion, and we talk about holidays past.  When the boys were small we always bought a toy with them for the toy drives in the community.  This year is our first without John and I am trying to think of a new tradition to start that will make our holiday a bit easier.

  1. Good morning, Cindy! Is it cold enough out there for you, LOL?

Well, we always decorate the tree together. Like you, our ornaments have special meanings and we remember where they came from, except for the generic balls that we put on there.

On Christmas Eve night, we always stay up late and have pie and watch a Christmas movie. Usually, All I Want For Christmas, but sometimes we just watch a funny one. We usually open a gift each that night, too.

I will be praying for your family this Christmas season.

  2. Wow, three trees! We put our one tree up the Saturday after Thanksgiving and usually watch a Christmas movie while we work. This year we watched "Christmas with the Kranks".

The decorations are well-distributed these days, because we have children of varying heights. Gone are the days of all the ornaments at the bottom of the tree!
