ohhh goodness..... have mercy...PRICE comparison

ok I was reading thru some older posts from January 2005...I had posted some of my grocery receipts I am going to repost them and let you all just see what the prices were then and you can share what yours are now

January 13 Wal mart
One loaf bread.................. $0.88 (99 cents now)
4 packages string cheese .34 ea. $1.36 dont know
3 pc thin sliced chicken .86 each $2.58 dont know
1 gal 2% milk $2.60 (3.89 now)
Mission tortilla chips $2.50 dk

salsa $1.17 dk (I made homemade this year)
Honeycomb cereal $1.98 (not sure I dont buy much cereal)

January 14th local grocerystore
Tea .98 (I am sure this was generic, which I still buy for 1.00 a box)
4lb bag of sugar .99 (1.65 for a four pound bag)
Sour cream 1.58 I always try to get this on sale, but it is over 2.00 a carton now
One head lettuce 1.09 (1.49)
6 oranges 1.00
2 loaves of bread .58 each 1.16

package of hamburger 3.25 pounds... 4.87 wow, hamburger is like 1.89 a pound now which would be 6.14pack chicken tenders breast meat 1.36 lb 2.01

as you see prices were quite a bit better nearly 3 years ago...we just have to shop smarter, we now live in a different area where I dont have as many choices for shopping.
